I’m a die hard LeBron fan, as much as I hate KD for helping an already strong Warriors, I disagree with whoever saying “NO” to KD’s Jersey retirement with Golden State. The question is simple, would the Warriors win those 2 championships without KD? The Answer is “No”, I don’t understand why this is even a debate. Just because he left that doesn’t mean you can just disregard the fact he was there leading that team.

As a golden state warriors fan since 2009, I do not believe they should retire KDs jersey. Malika Andrews does not speak for me 😂

I hated those warriors, but not retiring your two time finals MVP is something. Shouldn’t even be a question

Spirited argument but silly in the end. It all comes down to what retiring a jersey should mean — much like what makes a player ‘most valuable’ for the MVP discussion. Different ideas of what retiring a jersey means lead to different outcomes on Durant’s jersey retirement. If teams should retire a jersey for the greatness of a player or for their accomplishments with that team, Durant qualifies. If retiring a jersey is about excellence over the long haul with that team, he doesn’t. If it’s about belovedness by the fan base or what a player meant to a franchise, that’s going to be a toss-up.
Bottom line: Lacob said no Warrior would wear 35 again. The jersey is already de facto retired, at least as long as he owns the team.

Them debating against the former president (yes, PRESIDENT) and GM of the Warriors himself who entrusted KD for a championship run that he shouldn’t have his jersey retired is just blatantly disrespectful. You don’t teach the guy how to run a company like that.
Props to Myers for pulling it together with this shitshow, lol.

They can retire his jersey if they want to. It’s not that big of a deal. The Warriors have how many chips all time? And 2 of them came with KD. They can certainly legitimize the jersey retirement. Not retiring it is preference at this point.
