No the reason they was screaming mvp is cuz he took the youngest 1 seed ever to the second round of the playoffs stuff like that doesn’t happen to young teams their usually middle of the pack if not lottery teams and he did that in the Wild West

I don’t watch SGA much because their games are very late for me. Can someone explain the different playstyles between him and Tatum? What makes one slightly better than the other?

    • @PatoNani18

      October 28, 2024 at 9:03 am

First of all Shai is a point guard and Tatum is a small forward although Tatum can also play as a point forward if it’s needed. Shai is an elite slasher and he penetrates the paint more effectively and frequently than any other player in the league. He has very great handles and can change directions very quick, he’s not extremely explosive but his first steps gives him often and advantage to blow by and defender. He’s one of the best mid range scorer (literally automatic from there) in the league and has one of the best layup package. He’s a pretty tall guard and his insane wingspan allows him to score over anyone. He’s not as strong as Tatum but he’s strong enough to post up some players and score with a fadeaway or something. His playmaking ability is good, he’s a good passer but not elite. He still finds his man very often and kick outs in the right moment while drawing all the attention. He’s one of the best shot blocking guard in the league with many steals. He’s an average on ball defender but a great off ball defender so you can see him as an elite two-way player. What makes him better than Tatum is that he’s the much better and more efficient scorer and better facilitator. He’s a better at decision making has one of the lowest turnovers in the league although he has the third highest usage rate. So it’s almost guranteed that he makes constantly smart decisions when he has the ball in his hands and he’s a high IQ defender. Shai is one of the very few consistent players who gets his numbers (30 ppg) no matter what the opponent does.
