We found a similar player to Duncan Robinson but I think Sam Merrill has a better potential. I hope Bates and Merrill will be on cavs roster and rotation.

we know that emoji bates will spend a lot of time with the charge this year. my question is, how much time will sam Merrill? if his destiny in the nba is to be a catch & shoot guy, then why waste his time with the charge this year. get him on the bench with the cavs and PLAY HIM meaningful minutes.

You can’t leave Sam Merrill open even for a split second. Beautiful shooting stroke with no wasted motion that looks the same every time. You’re literally surprised when it doesn’t go in.

Emoni needed this experience & motivation, i think he let the spotlight get to him young and he didn’t have that hunger as much.
