The San Antonio Spurs snapped the Houston Rockets’ five-game winning streak with a 121-110 victory, opening West Group C play at 1-0 while the Rockets fell to 0-1.
Harrison Barnes led the Spurs with 24 points, hitting six of nine from three and grabbing five rebounds. Julian Champagnie added 22 points and seven rebounds, and Victor Wembanyama matched with 22 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks—scoring 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting in the fourth quarter as San Antonio outscored Houston 35-28. Wembanyama also extended his block streak to 93 consecutive games.
For Houston, Alperen Sengun tallied 25 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists, Kevin Durant scored 24 points on 8-of-18 shooting, and Reed Sheppard contributed 16 points, six assists, and four made threes.
With the win, San Antonio improved to 6-2 overall, while Houston dropped to 5-3.
