In her daily monologue, Rachel Nichols reacts to the news that the NBA is considering new tampering rules that could ultimately result in $10 million fines for teams, all in the wake of an offseason that saw Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, Paul George, Kemba Walker, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and many, many more players change teams.

Just put a muzzle on LeBron’s agent and half of this will go away. Honestly tho, it’s a huge problem, and I have no idea how you could stop it. Players seem to want to compete less and less with eachother and are just stacking up to the point the all-star game is becoming pointless at times, because what’s the point of having a game with all these superstars on two teams when the regular season is getting closer to that now.

Players would just get more discreet in their desire to move or switch teams and recruit their buddies.

@Darren Gordon-Hill The discussion is about getting superstars to stay. KD’s decision to go to the Warriors was universally derided and turned him from the #1 good guy in the league to the #1 bad guy/snake in the perception of both fans and media. That puts it into a completely separate category.

You want to punish them then take their drafts picks away like they did to Minnesota years back.

That was a brilliant piece at the end. Most teams and businesses are poorly run mainly because they fill the building with their buddies who are poor leaders as it pertains to the job within the team. Players don’t want to waste their prime on a team that hires a coach because they got connection to the gm but the coach sucks. Or draft a bunch of guys at my position that want help us win. Dumb decision after dumb decision and me as the player gets all the blame. Ask Melo and the Knicks what happened to his prime. Enough said. If small market teams have an advantage actually. The praise you receive from winning in a small market is actually exponential. But why stay if I’m not going to win.

Most players wont turn down that supermax though. Giannis can join almost any top 5 team and win a chip next year. But he will accept the superman watch

the media entices players not players just like Cindy on my YouTube I seen Giannis could join Warriors that’s a hot take to get the conversation started it’s your fault not theirs

Or how about you add a rule that says that a player can’t request a trade the first 2 years of his contract if he signs a 4+ year deal. And stop the 1 year deals

At this point for me and it may sound extreme but I would tactically scare players and teams from tampering. NBA team biggest fear is money, NBA player biggest fear is their legacy. So I would fine team large amounts of money and for players a smaller fine but add suspension during the playoffs or something almost critical to them that they won’t risk tampering. And I like my idea specifically with players because it would stop contending teams from calling other star players forming superteam and it would potentially be beneficial for smaller market non contending teams to get help.

Hey ESPN. Tennis is on. Why y’all not nut-hugging on the other young black players. What happened to Serena and coc gauff? What’s the update on COCO? Where is she? What tournament is she in right now? What about the next tournament. Mr world wide leader in sports, we are waiting

They should invent a cap for how many All Stars a team can acquire. I believe there should be no more than 3 All Stars per team at any given time.
