these video looks so redundant to many players but still not one of them does this while getting rebound. the game has changed but these fundamentals are still valid to win. you cant win without the ball, rightly said.

Bill may have won a lot of titles is not the greatest

This video shows that the term greatest of all time has been used so loosely throughout history

37 He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. 38 So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9‬‬:‭37-38‬ NLT)

They wearing low top sneakers with no wraps or any ankle support 😬 But Bill may be the greatest rebounder ever, not Rodman. But Rodman was an exceptional rebounder.

I like the textbook positioning demonstration. My only thought to all those details is when a game gets at full speed and your hands are positioned low or too low around the waist and being too concerned a player will get around you often quicker players will beat you to the ball, even shorter players, because you are shrinking yourself down lower. While you are boxing your man another comes in and takes your rebound because your hands are low and theirs are closer to the rim. You don’t catch a rebound in your mouth. Especially in today’s game since it is essentially a perimeter game with longer carums, your hands have to be up ready to snatch the ball similar to the way you play zone defense or the ball after the carum will get by you. You can reach up or like he says reach out as rebounding is in fact position but it’s also “bang bang” hands up, ready to receive, and it also quite often has very little to do with how high you can jump. Now, one-on-one, Red and Russell’s technique here is absolutely perfect but the game is five on five.

I also liked the fact that Bill uses defense as an offensive maneuver. I wanna watch more videos like this rebounding tutorial. <3

if there was anybody who was overqualified to teach rebounding, it’s Bill Russell… and Wilt and The Worm too, of course

McAdoo played Center… Russell is bigger than him! But, next to Wilt he was a small man. None the less, how is he not the GOAT? He never lost… Championships at every level; Almost Neva Loss.
