Tobias ($27m), Kevin Huerter ($16.8m), and Dario Saric ($5.3m) contracts all expire. So does Duren’s deal at almost $7m. Pistons have been at the salary cap floor for years. Tom Gores has always shown a willingness to spend big money making Monty Williams the highest paid coach in NBA history then firing him after one season. Gave Stan Van Gundy a ton of dough as well. Gores basically made him trade for Blake Griffin and his Super Max contract then bought him out. I really don’t think money or the luxury tax will be an issue for Gores or the Pistons. Duren isn’t going anywhere.
