The Cavaliers defeated the Heat, 126-106 tonight in Miami. Donovan Mitchell contributed a team-high 34 points to go with 6 assists 5 three pointers and 2 steals, with Evan Mobley of the Cavaliers adding an additional 22 points (10-15 FG) and 15 rebounds. Terry Rozier and Tyler Herro finished with 22 points for the Heat in the losing effort. The Cavaliers improve their record to 38-9 with the win, while the Heat fall to 23-23 for the season. The Heat’s next game is Saturday, 2/1/2025, against the Spurs on the road (8:30 PM ET, KENS/FanDuel Sports Network – Sun), while the Cavaliers head home to take on the Hawks on Thursday, 1/30/2025, (7:00 PM ET, TNT/truTV/Max).

    Cavs outrebounded the Heat 47-35. That was the difference in the game. In addition to outrebounding Miami, they also did a great job of taking care of the basketball, as they only had 7 TOs tonight.

    The short handed Cavs redeemed themselves against the Heat. They shot terribly from 3 but still got the job done.

    Very solid game by the Cavs. They outscore Miami by 30 points in the paint. Only 7 turnovers. 55% from the field. 44 points from their bench, even while resting their All Star point guard. Their 6th man, LeVert is injured and two rotational players were out as well.
