As a warriors fan, I think drafting Poerdemski over him was smart. In the long run it will pay off. He will be a great leader and playmaker who can snipe u from anywhere. Cam is just a SL performer
@UncJockstrap I’m not sure how much Fvv can rlly teach. He just doesn’t seem like a leader type guy. Plus cam will be playing with him, sengun, Brooks, green and possibly KPJ so it’ll be hard to grow. Poerdemski will be playing solid minutes and having 2 of the smartest players ever teaching him along with 2 elite shooters telling him to let it fly. Also Podziemski might not be the best defender but he’s willing to step in for charges. Drew 4 of them in 1 game against the Pelicans

The most successful of them, i.e., Poole, got packaged in a trade for an aging Chris Paul because of tension with the veteran core, specifically Green who punched him in the face. Wiseman, their #2 overall pick, and his development went so well he was traded for Payton II and second round picks before his rookie contract was even up. Kuminga and Moody have not proven much of anything yet.
There is a reason Whitmore was widely regarded as a top 10 pick prior to being flagged for potential injury concerns. As a 19-year-old 6’7″ wing with a strong ~230 lb. frame that can defend the point of attack, hit catch-and-shoot threes, attack closeouts, and finish strong around the rim, he is a much better prospect than Podziemski. If we are using Summer League performances, Whitmore put up 26 points on 11-21 shooting, 8 steals, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block in 30 minutes against Podziemski and the Warriors. Whitmore will be just fine with the rest of the Rockets’ young core under the Rockets’ new coaching staff and added veterans.
