His dad’s drama did half the publicity work for him as this video shows assists to fast breaks/alley-oops; now it’s time to respond to doubters (like myself) and maintain starting status/hopefully excel beyond Lonzo. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ€žπŸΌπŸ€žπŸΌ

Never in my life did I think I would ever watch β€œhornets highlightsβ€œ! I don’t even really follow the NBA since probably 2010… LOL. Michael Jordan was brilliant for bringing this kid in, he is exciting and regardless of results he will put fans in the seats and sell millions of jerseys! He creates plays, finally learned how to play defense, is so big that he can rebound as well, to me he is everything that Lonzo was supposed to be. This is by far the best β€œBallerβ€œ.

  62. troplaya55

    December 22, 2020 at 6:47 pm

2:03 my favorite!!! Kid is playing in preseason, hardly played any games and already has a highlight reel. I’m sorry, Lonzo couldn’t fit in his left shoe. Jell-O is just way too freaking slow, great shooter but not NBA material in my opinion. Could he get on a team and contribute, sure off the bench. But I don’t think he is really a true NBA player. If you want him to be 10, 11 or 12 man then sure. I don’t think LeVar had that in mind. The kid can shoot lights out better than all three of them… so technically you could put him in if you need it a three point bucket at the end of the game, sure. Where are you going to carry a guy simply because he is a zone shooter? Someone like LaMelo can penetrate, bring the wing defender in, and Jell-O would be open. Other than that, he’s not the type to pull up for a three against man-to-man defense. I like the kid a lot…

2:35 is not a pass I think I’ve seen often in my life… Ended up being very nice, but almost perfect. If it was perfect then forget about it. It goes to show you that this kid has vision that not many people get/have! You’re looking at the next Magic Johnson, Jason Kidd, Scott Skiles 30 IN A GAME), John Stockton, with Jason Williams style all mixed in one. Man, I might start watching all over again. I followed him, Tyler Herro, Mac Mclung all during their HS career. I knew all three of them would be special, a lot of people gave me heat for it… Mellow not so much, but with Tyler Herro people thought he was overrated, played one year in college and has been dominating the NBA! LOL. And Mac, this kid will be an NBA player without a doubt… Has the natural scoring ability, and hops like no oneβ€˜s business! If he makes it to the NBA, he will win a slam dunk contest! He’s only 6’1-6’2”, so his dunks look even crazier… other people have been obsessed with Julian Newman, i’ve told them since day one he is just too small and does not have the talent to even play division one at a decent school. I understand at one point he may have been one of the better players around at his age, what happened was he Pete too early, and other kids ended up continuing to grow while he stands at 2 feet tall. His father is way too vocal, versus LaVar who actually has three talented kids. Jell-O is about 20 times more talented than Newman , sorry to say but that’s the truth. Anyone who has played or coach knows what I’m saying, I’ve done both. He’s not a bad kid, I would not root against him but I’m just keeping it 100. If little kids want to look up to him, that’s cool… But as far as other kids his age, he’s not one to look at that’s relevant. I think if my dad was the high school coach for a crappy school, I could’ve been playing varsity as a little kid as well… So we had it made, definitely a hard worker, but he hit his ceiling… Nowhere else for him to go. I’m gonna look it up now, I doubt he got a scholarship anywhere… If he’s lucky he’ll be a walk on somewhere… But that’s major money that your parents have to spend! If I’m wrong and he did get a scholarship somewhere, division one decent school, I’ll be the first one to admit I was wrong…

Hahahahhaha!!! I just looked it up, β€œhe skipped college on purpose”…. SUUUUUURE!
β€œShare. High school basketball sensation, Julian Newman, has reportedly made a decision to skip college basketball and instead take the professional route. The news was announced on Overtime’s Youtube live video with Overtime Larry.Apr 4, 2020”

Basically that means he did not have a full ride anywhere, at 5’7” what do you expect?! He is not spud Webb, in the game has change so much more people are so much bigger nowadays.
