From growing up in Newark and a trailer in North Carolina to becoming a first-time NBA All-Star with the Miami Heat, Bam Adebayo has shared his journey with his mother, Marilyn. After Bam was drafted by the Heat in 2017, he and his mom started a foundation together to support other single parents. Nowadays, they share their “RAK” philosophy (Random Acts of Kindness) by hosting community events throughout Miami with Bam’s trainer, Kevin Graves.

This past holiday season, CloseUp360 spent a day with Bam to capture his annual Thanksgiving drive while telling the story of how he and Marilyn developed a special bond over the years, with Kevin’s support.

I didn’t start playing Basketball until the 6 grade either but unlike Bam I’m only 5’11 on a good day so starting playing late for someone my height is a huge disadvantage

I remember when coach Spo using him a lot more than Hassan Whineside because Spo sees bigger potential at him compare to WhineSide.
Bam trust the process and never complain about his role and limited time while Hassan thinks he’s the BIG STAR of the team who they need to adjust with.

I’m happy those people who criticize Spo and disbelieving Bam are now shutup,.. so where Hassan now? in his entire career he never gotten to all stars..
Congrats Bam with your all stars!

That’s what I like to see people that come from the bottom and don’t forget where they came from and give back not because they have to or for a tax break but because they care about people who don’t have nothing and he helps them out buy paying there grocery bills and not just write a check and take a picture of it and let it be known. This was the first time I ever heard anything about dude besides Basketball. I’m a 76ers fan and now I’m a BAM fan !!! Thank you for everything that you do bro I wish that there were a lot more people like you in the world it would be a much better place for it. Your a ALL-STAR of the court . 🏀 ⭐ 💯 %💝 !!! ✌ 🎭
